Faith-Based DiplomacyMany churches have bylaws restricting or limiting the use of courts to resolve disputes between Christians. The principle of restorative justice is based upon reconnecting the parties so that they achieve a resolution that is also based in a sense of reconciliation. This is extremely important when two or more parties will continue to come in contact with each other at church, fellowship, meetings, etc. Faith-based diplomacy is offered to assist the parties in resolving a dispute using not only common sense, logic and legal principles, but also biblical instruction, guidance and principles, to ensure to the greatest extent possible that the Body of Christ remains as intact as possible despite differences. Such faith-based diplomacy can also serve as an example to the the community of the biblical faith in action. |
